Hi Friend of The River Fund Maine, Exciting summer happenings at The River Fund Maine, all possible thanks to generous support from donors like you! TRFM welcomed Maine West Project Play Program Director, Justin Fereshetian this summer where he has been busy forging community partnerships, and prototyping curriculum with our community's young people. Working with community partners including Mahoosuc Kids Association, Bethel Area Rec. Department, SAD 44 & Gould Academy, Maine West Project Play aims to give kids the opportunity to build relationships with high quality coaches and mentors, and provide programming grounded in the notion of physical literacy, but that gives equal weight to social and emotional development. Developing coaching staff, Justin and The River Fund Maine have hired three Junior Coaches to help implement programming this Summer and into the Fall. Two of the Junior Coaches will be focusing on the programming implemented at MKA, and one coach specific to track & field this summer with Bethel Area Rec. All three of our junior coaches are Telstar High School students and participate in NorthStar, a youth mentoring program of the University of Maine Bryant Pond 4-H Center. |
